After three long years, I decided I’m going to Mormonism… Yes, I found out that I was wrong and that leaving the Church was one of my biggest mistakes. I’m already talking with the sister missionaries of my neighborhood to schedule an appointment for my baptism. I will have to wait a whole year to be able to enter the Temple again, I can’t wait for that!
I know that many of you may be thinking:
But Eddie… You read the CES Letter, you found the hidden practices of the LDS Church, the polygamy relationships of Joseph Smith Jr. with teenagers and all the flaws in the Book of Abraham and Book of Mormon. You saw the videos from NewNameoah. You even resigned and erased your name through Quit Mormon. And you still want to go back?
Two words people: Faith and Belief
The Mormon Church taught me a lot of things, I decided to quit three years ago for selfless reasons and now I want to… I want to say: April Fools’ Day!!!
I will NOT go back to that religion, or any religion! Now more than ever I know that I took the right decision to quit Mormonism. I want to share the video that opened my eyes, ears, and heart:
This video was the spark that started my research against Mormonism.
My Brief Story With Mormonism
I joined the Mormon Church on April of 2013, I was invited by a friend that lives in another state in Mexico. I progressed very fast in the church, I took it very seriously, I attended every Sunday meeting and also most of the activities. I made good friends and I still have contact with some. I began giving service in the church and I was part of several organizations within the church including the Sunday School, I was a Young Men counselor and even the leader of the missionary work of the whole ward.
It was not wasted time, I enjoyed it and even if the church is not true most of the members are generally good people with good values and good intentions. It was an experience I will be able to tell my grandkids. After that time I realized that I don’t need religion or a god to tell me what to do or how to feel. I have developed my own spirituality and Gris and I are always looking for ways to grow.
One of my first posts of Steem was about the Mormon Hook, you can read more about it here: https://steemit.com/religion/@eddiespino/the-mormon-hook
